Sunday’s match against Tottebham Hotspur saw Manchester City contine their good form as they emerged victorious by a score of 1-0.

City have now won four consecutive games against the North London squad under Manuel Pellegrini. The lone goal put in by Sergio Aguero was all City needed to close out another win, their third straight victory.

Aguero looked like a man among boys on the pitch as he darted up and down the line causing serious issues for the Tottenham defence. Spurs backline had no answer for his quickness and strength. The Argentine attacker was a constant threat for City all game.

His first-half strike was an exhibition in teamwork . The sequence started with a Tottenham corner that City keeper Joe Hart caressed with ease. Hart sprinted to the top of the box and threw a beautiful lead ball up to midfielder David Silva. Silva raced to the ball, took a couple of dribbles then broke the panicked Spur defence with a perfectly placed ball to Aguero who was also sprinting up the field. Aguero arrived to the ball and blasted a top-shelf strike right past Hugo Lloris’s near side.

The match was highly entertaining throughout. With Chelsea winning the Premier League with a victory over Crystal Palcace on the weekend, much has been made of the incredibly slow-paced, defencive strategy deployed by Jose Mourinho.

While Manchester City won’t defend their Premier League title this year, no one can criticise their style of play. The Blues play an exciting brand of football and it was fun to watch them square off against a Tottenham team who also play with a lot of energy.
