Manuel Pellegrini is set to take preventative action regarding his star player, Sergio Aguero, and his fitness.

The City boss has indicated that he will be very careful with Aguero’s pre-season schedule heading into next year in order to potentially prevent his star striker from suffering any nagging injuries during the season.

Aguero has proven time and time again this year that he is pivotal to City’s success. He is the leading scorer in the Premier League this year and has shown to be an invaluable assett to Pellegrini’s squad.

Keeping Aguero healthy will, and should be, one of the highest priorities heading into next year’s Premier League season.

After enduring many small injuries that kept him out for most of the 2013-2014 title-winning season, Aguero missed about a month of football this year between December and January.

Pellegrini plans to allow his 26-year-old striker to skip out on City’s pre-season matches in Australia that are set to take place in July.

Aguero will be further monitored as next season draws closer with the hope that the Argentine will be a mainstay in Pelligrini’s Starting XI all season long.
