Sergio Aguero scored yet again in last weekend’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Argentine has been absolutely superb for Manchester City this year, as he has notched over 20 goals this year for the club.
The goal was breathtaking in and of itself. Aguero sprinted up the pitch after a poor Tottenham corner kick. The ball was eventually in the City attacking third with David Silva in possession. Silva fed Aguero with a beautiful pass that Aguero then one-timed right by Spurs keeper, Hugo Lloris.
It has become clear that Aguero is a pivotal piece to Manchester City’s starting lineup and should not be sold.
With City players, such as YaYa Toure, looking to be on the move, Aguero needs to be a piece that is “not for sale”.
Aguero is quickly closing in on 30 goals this year, a year after netting 28, and it would be very difficult to make up for his output.
We have seen this year what happens when a star striker changes teams. Liverpool finished second to City in last year’s Premier League standings and are now set to finish outside the top four this year after losing their workhorse.
Aguero is that workhorse for the Blues. City can’t afford to lose him anytime soon or they may suffer the same fate as Liverpool.
