Aston Villa will enter Etihad Stadium tomorrow to take on Manchester City in a match that may prove to be very important if City are to retain their fourth place position in the Premier League standings.

The clash at the Etihad promises to be an exciting one with City returning to form after beating West Ham last weekend and Villa on an emotional high after emerging victorious over Liverpool in last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final.

Tim Sherwood has Villa playing their best football in years. They are in excellent form, winning four of their last six league games. Christian Benteke looks like a rejuvenated man as he continues to put the ball in the back of the net as the head of the Villa attack.

Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini’s squad are slowly regaining their form, and last weekend’s 2-0 win over West Ham was a victory that they desperately needed after playing sub-par football, by their standards, for the better part of two months.

While the liklihood that City can be caught by Liverpool or Southampton in the standings is low, the reigning Premier League champs need to win this game in order to re-establish some confidence. Beating a white-hot Villa team would certainly breathe some life into a deflated City team.

After taking an elbow to the face that sent him to the hospital last weekend, David Silva looks like he could return to the pitch for tomorrow’s match.

Despite a somewhat disappointing campaign for the club, Sergio Aguero has been one of the few bright spots for City. His second half strike last weekend marked his 20th goal in 28 Premier League games this year.

Both teams feature prominent attacking options and it will be a battle that will surely bring some excitement into Etihad Stadium.
