Manchester City are ready to make a splash in the transfer market, with three new faces identified by the Premier League champions according to Mirror Football.

Roberto Mancini is thought to be keen to add Fabricio Coloccini, Matias Rodriguez and Jack Butland to his already star-studded squad.

Newcastle skipper Coloccini had an excellent 2011-12 and was a key reason for the Tyneside club’s strong domestic campaign.

Despite the fact that the central defender signed a new contract recently, it is thought that the promise of Champions League football could well tempt the South American into a move.

Rodriguez currently plays for Chilean champions Universidad de Chile, and is an Argentine right winger.

The 26-year-old is a key member of the Copa Sudamericana winners’ squad, but the Etihad Stadium side are readying a £7 million bid for the attacking midfielder.

Finally, City want to bolster their goalkeeping reserves, and will make a move for England’s Butland after Euro 2012.

The stopper is on the books of Birmingham City, but with the St Andrews club in financial difficulty the Championship side may well be ready to cash in on Butland, with Tottenham and Arsenal also interested.
