Sergio Aguero has reiterated his commitment to Manchester City in the wake of continued speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Argentinean striker has been in scintillating form throughout his debut season in the Premier League, notching up an impressive 19 goals in 29 appearances. However, the 23-year-old has felt the need to rebuff suggestions made by his father-in-law Diego Maradona that he should join Real in order to further his career.

“The truth is that I am happy here, happy with my fellow players and the rest of the staff. The only thing I have to do is enjoy playing football.

“I repeat that I am very happy here and they invent things to try to compromise me.” (Sky Sports)

Aguero bagged a brace in the recent 4-0 victory over West Brom and was eager to share his delight at his thriving partnership with fellow countryman Carlos Tevez.

He said: “Yes, obviously Carlos is a great player, like Edin (Dzeko) and Mario (Balotelli), and fortunately we know each other from (playing with) Argentina.

“He knows how I move and play and I know his game so we hope to be able to keep getting to know each other better and I’m happy for his first game.”
